Our model organisms include the cyanobacteria Synechocystis sp. PCC6803 and eukaryotic photoautotrophs including Clamydomonas reinhardtii.

This image shows our trace metal clean, sterile chemostats. By growing these organisms at steady-state, we can more accurately measure the affects of chronic conditions. Specifically, we are looking at the influence of variable Fe, Cu, and their possible synergistic relationship.
